Diamonds and Sapphires go really well together.
In as much as a they are different, they complement each other well.
Diamonds have a hardness of 10 on the Mohs Scale while Sapphire has a hardness of 9.
However Diamond is 10 times harder than Sapphire in actual terms.
I love the contrast between the white Diamond Color & the Blue tones of the Sapphire
Diamonds are much more expensive than Sapphire.
A 1 carat VSI, D-F color Diamond could retail for $9,000 while a Top quality 1 carat Sapphire retails for $ 850.
You can be extravagant and opt for a Large Diamond in the middle flanked by two small Sapphires e.g. in three stone diamond rings.
For a cheaper version, use smaller Diamonds & ordinary sized Sapphire.
Its amazing how much variety we can find if we take the time to learn a few things.
You not only end up saving money, you get to create unique rings.
